Bleach Painted Sweatshirts

Bleach Painted Sweatshirts

I was recently browsing at one of my favorite clothing stores, and I saw a darling sweatshirt that looked as though it had been painted in bleach. The sweatshirt was rather expensive at $128, so I decided to make my own!

Supplies

  • Splash-less bleach. Regular bleach will work as well, but I like that the splash-less variety is easier to control. It doesn’t drip as easily, and it behaves more like a paint.

  • Dark colored sweatshirt or t-shirt

  • Thinner paint brush

  • Cup for bleach

  • Disposable gloves

How To

This project is very simple! I’ve explained the whole process in this video tutorial. The hardest part is figuring out what design to create!

A few important reminders:

  • Make sure to use bleach in a well-ventilated area

  • Bleach will dye everything, so cover clothing and your work space

  • Use gloves to protect hands

  • Assist children with this project as chemicals are used

Pick a few of your favorite designs, and make many sweatshirts! I always love to see the magic of the bleach as the design appears each time!
