Halloween Craft Camp: Chunky Tassel Ghosts

Halloween Craft Camp: Chunky Tassel Ghosts

DSC_0033 (1).JPG

It is no secret to those who regularly visit my website and YouTube channel that I am a fan of tassels. And yarn. And chunky yarn. When I can combine some of my favorite things and make some new Halloween decor, it’s perfect! I made tassel ghosts a few years ago for a garland, but I made them fairly small. Like a normal sized tassel. These ghosts are not your average tassel ghosts. These are BIG ghosts! You can make them as large as you want based on how much yarn you use to create your tassel. Chunky yarn will help fill it up faster, and I love the look of lots of different textures and sizes of yarn in these ghosts!

Materials

  • Yarn of all shapes and sizes

  • Large piece of cardboard or your arm for wrapping the tassel. I prefer my arm!

  • Trim, fabric scraps, ribbon, etc for tying around your ghost’s neck

  • Black felt

  • Hot Glue

  • Scissors

  • FOR THE CHEESE CLOTH GHOSTS:

    • Styrofoam balls

    • Cheese Cloth. I found the pink cheese cloth at my local craft store, but you can find the off-white color at any grocery store, or here on Amazon.

    • Black Felt

    • Trim, fabric scraps, ribbon, etc for tying around your ghost’s neck

    • Hot Glue

How to

The following video will help show you how to make a tassel ghost. The cheese cloth ghosts are really simple! Simply wrap cheese cloth around a Styrofoam ball and secure with trim or yarn. Hot glue the eyes like you would for the tassel ghosts.

Hang your cute ghosts from a chandelier, the ceiling, or from a tree outside. They might not be the scariest ghosts you’ve ever seen, but they are definitely the cutest! Happy Halloween!
